WHY IS CULTURE SO IMPORTANT?
Often, organizations that have a strong corporate culture have it because of the founder of the organization. Cultures can be grown in an institutional sense by focusing on the type of culture an organization wants to have and, in fact, the culture can become relatively strong over a period of time. When most members of the organization share the values of the organization and the values are reinforced by recognition of the achievements when excelling at these fundamental cultural issues the organization develops a relatively strong culture.
Organizations that have cultures that emphasize the interests of the three major stakeholders, namely the employees, the customers and the stockholders, tend to outperform firms that do not emphasize the interests of those three major groups.
