What types of people tend to participate in The Advisory Board Program®?
What we find is that most people that sign up to participate in The Advisory Board Program® (TABP) are very similar in nature. Often they think alike. They focus on the value they receive not what something costs. They are all fairly "driven" and they have many goals they are trying to achieve. They are smart and intuitive. They are very independent and most often think outside of the box in solving business issues.
They recognize that they need a team around themselves to help them achieve all of these goals. They have a small cadre of staff that help them with the tasks that they need help with. They are often micro-managers who feel they can do whatever needs to be done, better than anyone else (and they probably can). Micro-managing is what has made them successful and also what holds them back from making further progress.
This "glass ceiling" effect is often not obvious to them. They tend to hire people that are more like themselves when they really need to hire people who complement them. This will magnify their ability to get things done. Often, when that happens, others start to see them as a "visionary" rather than a dreamer.
